R.I.P Aunty Siololupe Piei

Sunrise: 12.05.1964
Sunset: 22.10.2017

Getting a early call in the morning well I'm sleeping was so suspicious. Finding out that it was my mums sister in law that was calling and telling us to rush to the hospice. My mind filled with worry and fear hoping that everything was fine. Strolling down the corridor with silence surrounding me causing me to hear little drips of water. Hearing my cousin crying her eyes out caused me to tear up as well. I walked silently into the room with tears running down my cheeks.

We were all told that Siolo couldn't talk but she could still hear what everyone was muttering. Waiting for the news was so scary but in my mind I knew that it was going to be her last breaths today. I sat next to her bed holding her hand and talking to her. I was telling her that everyone will miss you very much. They will miss your smile, your laugh and especially your face. I could see her tears running down her face, so I gently wiped it with a tissue. I also told her that I was the luckiest person in my family to celebrate my birthday with her before she went.

#❤Miss you aunty😭
Good Bye Siololupe Piei Telefoni. R.I.P till we meet again.

Hosting Our Class's Movie

Yesterday was the Manaiakalani Film Festival. Meafou and I went on the Tamaki Collage van to the theater. We were one of the hosts for the Manaiakalani Movies for 2017. Our movie was about rugby values. Most of the teachers thought it was the best movie out of all the movies that were played. We had to go on the Tamaki Collage van with the room 10 hosts to the theater. Hosting our movie to 500 people was scary but it was fun. Running around the movie theater trying to look for our time to shine was tiring. In cinema 3 we were 5th  in screening, cinema 2 we were 2nd and the last one we were 8th. I hope you enjoy our movie.

Our New Rotaion

At tech we were rotated to another class which was wood work. The first thing Mr Grundy said before we went in the class was, "This is a dangerous class and we have to act two years older than we are."

We had to sit on a stool and listen to our teacher explain what we were dealing with. It was glass. So he showed us what to not do and what to do. The one thing you should not do is to glide your finger across the side of the glass that you have just cut a minute ago. You'll cut your hand and you  will start bleeding and there will be a big mess.

We  decorated twelve different designs on a piece of paper. We had to finish all the designs before moving on to making our glass project.

Our Pasifika Study Performance

Today at our special assembly every class performed an item based on Tonga and Samoa. Every class had different performances. Room 1 and 4 performed a traditional Samoan dance called a 'Sāsā'. Followed by Room 5 who presented a song called 'Le Aute'. The most interesting performance was Room 6's. They performed a Catwalk where the students were partnered with each other into girl with a boy. Some of the girls were wearing a puletaha(Tongan), some were wearing a puleetasi(Samoan). The boys were wearing a sote and a tupenu tide with a gafa.

We sang a song called 'How Far I'll Go' from the movie Moana. I was so nerves that I started to stare at the floor throughout the whole song. I enjoyed every bit from the beginning to the end.

The First Day Back

Our 2 weeks holiday has unfortunately ended and we are back at school. We started off with running for our daily fitness at 8:55 am. It was tiring because it was our first day back at school. But it was worth it because we can become fitter and fitter every day. After we finished fitness we organised our lunch time duties, bell monitor and staff room duties. We then moved on to our maths followed by reading. Straight after lunch we had or first school assembly for term 3. We finished off our day with blogging and cloze reading.

🥛 National Milk Day 🥛

Today is a odd but exciting day for for me it's National Milk Day! Since it's National Milk Day our teacher decided to take photos of all of us drinking our milk. We are so lucky to have milk at school. We get milk from the Fonterra Factory. Sometimes I don't like milk but I drink it because its very good for our muscles, bones, and our health. We should always drink milk.

🍳Our Last Time In Cooking Class🍳

Wednesday 17th of May was our last day at Cooking class. We then had to move to a different class called Graphics.
For our last day in cooking we cooked blueberry muffins. We had to mix the dry ingredients in a big bowl and the wet ingredients in a small bowl. Then we had to mix the dry and wet ingredients together.
The second to last step was  to pour the mixture evenly into paper muffin cups and bake for 15 minutes.
The last and finial step was to enjoy the yummy and delicious cup cake we made.

🍴Food Tech🍴

On Wednesday we were going to tech for the first time in term 2. The year 8s had food tech and the year 7s had wood tech. Our teacher for food tech was Mrs Tuipulotu. We made Oreo truffles covered with shredded coconuts and melted chocolate drizzled on top.

The first thing we had to do to make the oreo truffles was to crush the oreos and mix it together with coconut cream. Then you mix and mix until you see that the mixture is hard enough to roll into little balls. After you've rolled it into little balls you then have to cover it with shredded coconuts and pop it in the ice. While the truffles are in the ice you have to melt the chocolate and pour it on top of the truffles.

Our First Duffy Assembly

Today was our first Duffy assembly. Two men came over to our school to talk about how reading is important and how far it can take you. The two men names were Henry and Robert Rakete. Robert Rakete was the person that was talking to us. He asked us if our rooms were clean or dirty. Some people said that their rooms where dirty some people said that their rooms were clean. He told us that he had a son that was year at and was told to clean his room two times. So Robert Rakete went to his sons room and started to clean. When he was cleaning the book shelf he found his favorite book he liked when he was young. He lade back on his sons bed and began to read the book. While he was reading hes son came home and then he told him to clean the rest.

Close Drysdale wins gold in photo finish

drysdale123

Mahy Drysdale has won the men's single sculls at the Rio Olympics. The kiwi collacted our gold second medal of the Games with a dramatic photo finish victory. Drysdale went into the final as the defending Olympic champion and the title favorite. However, Croatia's Damir Martin had other plans. The Crotian led the feild by a boat length after 1000m but by the 1500m mark Drysdale was in front and he appeared to have the race under control. But a sensational burst by the Croatian seemingly beat Drysdale right on on the line. There was then a nervous wait for a minute and a half as the judges checked the photo finish – before awarding the race to Drysdale but crediting both rowers with the same time.

World's Smelliest Flower

flowerThe world's smelliest flower has bloomed in New York and it stinks! The rare flower, a corpse flower, known for its stench, has been on display in New York. The rare plant is called the corpse flower because it smells a bit like rotting meat or sick. It's one of the biggest flowering plants on earth and can grow up to six foot as tall as a grown man. The flower usually takes 10 years from seed to first flower and after that blooms again every two to three years for just a couple of days.  The last time a corpse flower was displayed in New York was in 1939.

My Olympic Mascot

On Friday afternoon me and my class did art and we had to make up our own mascot. My mascot represents the rings. When I drew the rings it looked boring so I added lines so it will make it look like some one is holding the rings up.
